Baby E, a sweet, happy, alert baby was brought into this world by two wonderful parents. Both, equally invested in HypnoBirthing and how one could support the other, and wanting to make the best choices they could for their baby. This mama labored drug free through her induced labor. She spent a great deal of time preparing for labor by listening to the relaxation tracks and practicing the breathing techniques. While laboring, she stayed on top of her breathing and controlled her thoughts, and as a result did not need any pain medicine. As you can see from the picture, this mama was so pleased to meet her little one. Great job, L! I am so proud of you and A!
Why HypnoBirthing?
I just taught my first HypnoBirthing® class series to a wonderful couple and I felt really good doing it! I felt as though I was doing something first-rate for the universe. Although, it has been a couple of years since my baby's HypnoBirth, I am quickly reminded why I wanted to teach this class and how very important all the material is. Not only is this class helpful at preparing moms and dads for a gentle birthing, but it teaches tools, techniques, and ways to be a calm, gentle, confident parent and person too.
A dad in my HypnoBirthing class described what we were learning as "HypnoLiving." I am attached to this term now. HypnoLiving is what I call life AFTER HypnoBirthing. To me, it is a way of life. It is being mindful and present as I move throughout my day. Finding time to reflect on the things that are working and making the necessary changes to those things that are not. Relaxing my mind and body through guided imagery, deep breathing, progressive relaxation, exercise and gentle stretching. Getting quality sleep regularly, feeding my body with healthy and nutritious foods, drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated, and avoiding the stressors that bring tension to my body. HypnoLiving means I surround myself with positive, open and kind people and release the negative energy that I often take on from others. I talk in a calm and soft voice to myself, my children, and to anyone I encounter, and I affirm myself regularly that all I do and all I am is enough.
I respect HypnoBirthing® for allowing my baby's birth to be gentle and freeing, but also for giving me some tools to use once she was here. Being a parent is amazing and so rewarding, but challenging and exhausting too. It reveals your weaknesses and certainly grows you as a person if you are able to embrace the lessons. HypnoBirthing focuses a great deal on letting go of fears. Particularly fears of childbirth and parenting and the breathing techniques taught create calm. This is HypnoBirthing®. It is good, it is positive and it is empowering.
I teach Tuesday evening classes from my home in Springfield.
